Owner/Creator, Shawn Frances Lee, designed these exotic dance workshops to be suited for the enthusiastic amateur as well as the aspiring professional. Specializing in all styles of contemporary Exotic Dance, her workshops are structured from a genuine dance and acrobatic base. Although not merely "fitness classes", they also include recognized fitness based safety and injury prevention qualities.

Shawn has taken this unique style of movement, and carefully broken it down into easy to learn choreography that any woman can learn, even if you have never danced before.

Mission:

To create a series of home instructional DVD’s, and a high quality instructor training program, that is not merely a form of “alternative” dance exercise/fitness, but also inspires a playful, creative space for all women to explore their natural sensuality in the most secure, supportive, and effective environment possible.

• Completion of Trapeze Instructor Training – Nimble Arts (Now NECCA)
• 160+ hours training with Elsie and Serenity Smith (Nimble Arts/NECCA)
• 7+ years regular training with other circus (and Cirque) professionals

Shawn's exotic pole-dance skills are entirely self-taught, with nearly two decades of first hand experience. Her first instructional DVD is still the highest rated on Amazon, and she personally designed the first quality pole-dance practice mat. She also created the first Licensed/Certification program internationally for exotic pole dance instructors. The “PoleCat Power Method”, known for its safety and injury prevention, is recognized as one of the most exclusive and comprehensive pole dance instructor training programs offered internationally.

Shawn has a background in numerous types of movement training. Her childhood training began at the age of 2 with tap dancing. It continued throughout childhood to include ballet, gymnastics and ice/roller-skating. She became an AFAA certified group fitness instructor at the age of 18. A musical theater major, Shawn continued to train heavily in dance, especially Fosse style jazz. Her love of dance has always continued, adding salsa and hip-hop into the mix in the recent years.

Aside from dance, her passion of theater and acrobatics led her to her most recent obsession, the aerial circus arts, in early 2003.

She continues to arduously train and perform on various aerial dance apparatus, including aerial fabric/tissu. Aside from all of her technical training, Shawn’s addiction to Fosse, Cabaret, and Burlesque led her to work off and on as a real Exotic Dancer for over 10 years. She taught herself to "Pole Dance" in Las Vegas at the Crazy Horse Too, where she regularly worked with and knew a very young (and not quite of legal age yet) Jenna Jameson. In total, Shawn danced in over 30 clubs across the country, not only in Las Vegas but also in New York City, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and other places as well. During this time, she became quite well known in the underground club circuit for her polework and elaborate stage performances.

She retired from dancing many, many years ago when the focus in the business became about "lap dancing" rather than the stage performances. Personally, she preferred the clubs back when exotic dance was a “non-contact sport”. Although, she is currently re-vamping some of her elaborate Neo-Burlesque routines to perform for elite showcases.

No other exotic aerial dance instructor and choreographer internationally has such a unique program, incorporating technical and exotic dance choreography, group fitness training, aerial circus acrobatics, and aerial circus safety/injury prevention. Shawn's classes have grown non-stop over the last 7 years, merely through word of mouth and the Internet. She also works with a large number of exotic dance professionals and adult film stars who need to prepare for exotic dance contests and the strip club feature circuit.

Shawn has become well-known in the underground of exotic dance as "the" authentic exotic aerial dance instructor and choreographer in the industry. Her trademark style of combining provocative yet tasteful choreography with amazing pole acrobatics and floorwork is appealing to the adult industry and non-adult industry alike.
